WEAK Coon

I've been trying to get my female ready for some hunts in April but it doesn't seem to be doing her much good. She has caught and killed several on the ground and when they do get up a tree its because it was the first one they saw. They are very weak, and skinny from the tough winter so i'm going to have to hold off on hunting. Anyone else have the same trouble?

I no we had the coldest winter here in NC ive seen in years. Two snows the stayed on the ground for a long time. At the end of the season we killed two boar coons that I remember that were very very big framed coons but skinny as a rail. Had great big feet and long long bodies but no meat on em!! Looked like 20 pound coons that didnt way but 8 or 9 pounds.

I'd say that they are so weak from the ruttin, boar coons will run day an night ruinnin up an down every den tree in the timber. I doubt they are sick, but it wouldn't hurt to get one checked.

May not be a bad idea to have one checked, just in case.

Yea I would have it checked but be advised, I dont no how it works at your animal shelter and animal control officers but if you tell them the coon bit your dog theyre gonna keep it till they find out its ok, and they wont check the coon unless its bit a dog so you might wanna tell em it bit one of your less important dogs lol.
