If you tightly breed anything that goes back to Blue Joe you will get a lot of blues and maltese brindle. Funny thing though, I have been breeding them for thirty five years and have never had one good enough to make the brood pen, male or female. They always seem to come heavier boned and are slower. Never had on that had a really good nose even though the family I breed are known to be cold nosed gritty dogs. Never had one that was a cull, just not up to par with the other dogs in the litters. Just my observations and not and indictment against blue Plotts, cause I keep every blue I breed trying to get that good one.
