I reckon you want to catch 'em alive? So your wantin' a live trap? I have live traps from Autumn Oaks, they work great for me. I bought them some time ago, so don't know how much they cost now. But with the price of everything now a days it may be just as well to buy already made as to make yourself.

That ones done for. If you get one make sure it's heavy enough to hold a coon. Some of those live traps will bearly hold a house cat. I have had big coon break the wire and get out. If you have a weldin' shop around they may be able to help you.Nite Lite catalog has a picture of a live trap on page 32. Price is from 56.99 to 69.99, this should help, at that price keep it away from the tractor.

When you get a live trap try usin' something sweet for bait. I use the big marshmellows them coon like them. Throw some on the outside to get their attention then put one under the trigger when they go for that one bang you got him. Then the fun starts.

You dont think it will work? I think it will, I have saw a many a coon caught in a dumpster and couldnt get out. I thought about a 55 gallon blue barrell with a spring on a hinged door, maybe catch 2 or 3 in a night.

I made one out of three metal milk crates. leave the bottom in one. cut the bottom out of the other 2. weld them together and use one of the bottoms as the door. a peice of 1/4" metal rod and some nuts that the rod can slid through and a peice of flat metal for the trigger is about all you need.

The Very Best Trap I've EVER Used WAS to Dig a Hole about 3' in Dia. and about 4'-5' Deep, Make sure the Sides are Stright up and down .. Once your done Digging put about 2"-3" of Ashes in the Bottom then Get yourself a Can of Sweet Peas and put the Peas around the Edge of the Hole Then Sit back and wait, Then when the Coon comes along to "Take a Pea you Kick Him In The Ash Hole" .... Works every Time

People call me several times a year with coons caught in dumpsters, I catch them with whatever I have, I have used Tstat wire and pvc and made a coon catcher in a few minutes, I have taken a 5 gallon bucket and put over him them slide the top under, then flip it, been doing it for years and years. coons have a hard time climbing smooth slick steep surfaces, same reason you dont tree many coon in sycamore trees.
