I have a dog that was bad about this. She would climb the tree, jack it, and run it. I took some advice from someone and they told me to take two 2 inch balls or something you can clip to there collar at the tree and when they start to jack the tree it hits them in the chest and they will learn after a few time of doing this. Im not saying this stopped mine 100% but it definetly helped.

Tie her close to tree take a rope 2 feet or so tie loop in one end. Run other end through loop pull it tight cant jump with legs sucked together do this a few times it will work.

U can hook tennis ball or a golf ball on the collar on about six inches of cord and everytime he jacks thell slap him in the head and chest they'll learn quick if u don't want too do that carry a extra lead with u or a section f rope and tie the dog too the tree tightly where all he can do is stretch out on the tree and everytime he tries too run or jack it'll force his head and body too smack into the tree

If a dog is bad about it and its in their family, some of these things might help but I doubt you will ever completely stop it.

Usually they settle down with age a little anyway...

definitely l do not pet them up and praise them too much at the tree. they will get worse.

my english dose that but she it getting better i just tie her up when she gose too jump i put my hand out over her head i dont hit her then i tap on the tree then she stands on it

Not much you can do before you get to the tree.
Double leash him with another dog just where they cant touch the tree.
Leash him and stand on the leash where he can't jump and keep your hand above his head. REPETITION REPETITION REPETITION

When you start hunting with other dogs,they will teach him not to jump too close to them.
