was told they is at least 5 living 1 1/2 miles from my house and 1 was seen accross the road from my house,,seen tracks in the snow where 1 was following a rabbit 5' from my frount porch....

heard they were protected till i see one ..

We see few at night down here. Treed one once. There are tracks all over the place in the state forest up and down the old mine roads and what not

Still not a good Idea to preach about it. These hunting forums and any outdoor forums get looked at by game wardens. I am a taxidermist and deal with them alot and the fines for shooting something out of season or are protected are not worth it. Now I am sure that you would probably not get in trouble if your dogs or yourself are threatened but to kill one if you see it aint going to be worth it. JMO

Don't worry about cats gutting your dogs. It's not impossible but it's a lot closer to being a myth than reality.

Why would anyone hunt them regularly in the day? Retorical question. Hunt them cats in the day...it's a lot more fun than hunting at night anyhow.

It sounds like there is getting to be a fair number of cats up there. Your not going to find them everywhere you find coon but when you folks get ir figured out, your going to find a lot better challenge than you will hunting coon. Your also going to find out just how good your dogs really are real quick. Those cat dogs sure don't come in bunches.

I hunt them full time and really enjoy it. The only thing that is as much fun (to me) is gray fox.

We ran a bob in northern IN one night. Treed a few in TN and caught one on the ground in TN one night. They are not that dangerous. The male caught on the ground ripped the dog up pretty good but not to bad. If your dog gets killed by a cat its his own fault I wish we had better ways of treeing cats down here.

I'd really like to know who's treeing these cats at night and seeing them in the tree when you get in there?!?!

Yes, there are bobcats in Ohio. The PA Game Commission has been putting them out around here for the last 10 years. Of course they are going to migrate to Ohio. They don't know state lines, they are just cats! lol
