Just received new from Mark Smith that his long time friend Leroy Perry has passed on yesterday. Leroy was owner of Galaxy Genetics, Inc in Jefferson City, Ohio. Just got back in town from hunting and found out Leroy passed away. Always enjoyed talking with him on the phone. Prayers up to the Perry family.

Here is obit and funeral info.

PERRY Leroy Perry, age 71, of West Jefferson, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011. Retired from Sears as a sales associate. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed breading coon dogs. Leroy loved his family, he never met a stranger and enjoyed good conversation. Preceded in death by parents Cecil and Delsie (Belcher) Perry, brother Cecil Jr., 2007, brothers-in-law Lannie G. Maynard, 2008 and John R. Orahood, 2005, sisters-in-law Betty Dodd, 1998 and Mary Saygraves, 1996. Survived by loving wife, Sharon; son, Scott Allen Perry; sisters, Mildred (John) Laney, Shirley (Walter) Van Hoose and Darlene Maynard, all of Louisa, KY; sister-in-law, Lucille "Sue" Perry; and brother-in-law, Bill Dodd; granddaughter, Brooke Perry; step-daughters, Ashley Ball and Jessica (Norman) Blythe; step- great-grandchildren, Ethan Ball, Norman Jr. and Ireland Blythe; many special friends and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and one loving "Aunt" Vanita Perry of Louisa, KY.

Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with visitation 1 hour prior with Pastor Ed Lewis officiating. Interment Foster Chapel Cemetery.

I hate to hear this. I always went by and saw him when I was at Autumn Oaks. Wasnt long ago he called and talked awhile on the phone. Prayers up for the family.

Im so sad of this news! I thought the world of my ol buddy Leroy, he is one of the best people I have ever met.. I sure am going to miss talking to my ol buddy. He was so full of info. and never seem to run out. Take care ol buddy, you are in a better place now, I will never forget you!!!!!!!!! My prayers are with you, Sheron and family!!
I know he will be watching down on the hounds running and treeing because he loved it so much!!!

That is sad. I worked with Leroy a lot over the years. He really loved what he did. He will be missed.
