breaking a dog from opening before the rabbit is up

How can you break a dog from opening before the rabbit is up and running? I have a female that is just a year old and she will open on a cold track but will get the rabbit up. How can I break her from opening so early?

Not trying to be smart, but if she's opening and producing, what is the problem? You may do more harm than good trying to tighten her up.

Because when my others are out front of her hunting and if they get the rabbit up she does not pull and go to them she keeps on cold trailing it. I swear she can run a 2 day old track. Lol

I don't think you could stop a dog like that. I have one like that and I like her where I hunt hares because there is only a few and she will stay on it until she gets it jumped. Good luck!!
