Deer Breaking

Does anyone know who has captive live deer used to break dogs in Ohio?I've got some young dogs that won't run one unless another starts it.I've turned them on red hot deer that crossed the road and they won't take it,but let another dog start one while out running and its Katie bar the doors.I figure the best way is to put them in the pen with a mean doe or buck and let them start stomping and light up Georgia at the same time.I've only got 1 working collar so letting a pack start one is out of the question.Or do you know someone in Central or Southern Ohio that deer breaks and guarantees their work? Thanks,Pete

You can find someone with a goat it will be the same as a deer. You know you can't go wrong with Tri-Tronics when it comes to deer. Just don't get excited it's in a hounds nature to chase. Good luck....

Try a goat first... we have raised deer for years and if you value the lives of these dogs you will be having a hound funeral when a hateful doe gets done with them... best case is a good size vet bill and the dogs develope a hate for deer... Could make them run the deer harder. Good luck... We have all been there or will be there in due time.
