Puppy Allergic to straw???????

Ive got a pup about 10 weeks old and i think shes allergic to straw. I took her to the vet and he gave me some antibiotic sav and pills to give her he said she had a cut on her eye but it wasnt bad. Since then the cut has healed but her right eye is still matted up and nasty every day. Any input or ideas is appreciated

My Jessie dog is the same way with Straw. Try Hay seems to help with her, but a mix of Cedar and Aspen shavings are what I use for her.

I have one dog that is allergic to straw. Her hair falls out on her belly and the skin is red and leathery and she scratches herself raw. Changed her to pine shavings and no more problems.

Not all straw is equal in quality.

I personally check to make sure it is wheat straw and clean
( meaning no hulls,tops, etc.).
I do not use oat straw for pups.
Its hard to find a vender of consistently clean wheat straw.
What most sell as clean is less than desireable.

Oat straw and dirty wheat straw will irritate pups.

Alfalfa grass is a good alternative to straw.
