differences between tracking systems??

New to the sport....never really used a tracking system...even when i hunt with people who have them..never really needed them. With that I see there value..but what kind should a newby get? and why? For instance what is the difference between F&L tracking system and a Garmin? Thanks, "J"

i got a garmin and i love it!! i would recommend it to anyone that asked...i love how it shows you exactly how far you are from the dog and what track the dog is taking...and i can get lost in the woods easily and with the garmin you can mark the truck so when you get to the tree you can click on the truck and it will take you right back to it...i also like to see how far all together the dogs run in one night...thats just my opinion on the garmin...hope i was helpful

The difference is. Buy a garmin and know exactly where your dogs are or by a beep beep and wonder! No comparison what so ever.Dont waste your money on a beep beep!

beepbeep

i have a beep beep havnt lost my dog yet, and yes he does leave my feet. bigest problem whith it is i have to listen to my dog to tell what he's doing but i kinda like that. garmans are nice if you hunt smaller woods, you can tell when they get close tothe road, both work fine just depends on what you like

Its like comparing a bicycle to a Cadillac. Like starting fire with two sticks versus a flamethrower. Kiddie pool versus the Pacific, you get my drift. JUST BUY THE GARMIN. You'll know everything your dog does, EXACTLY where it does it, the closest road to where your dog is, and which side of the creek your dog is treed on from half a mile away.

My father-in-law has a Garmin and they are amazing. You never have to wonder where your hounds are or what they are doing. Best of all you can mark the truck and not have to stumble around half the night looking for it. Handy little item!
