i don't gamble but maybe someone will set up a betting line, or whatever you call them, for people to place bets on wheather the judge will dismiss or enforce.
i wonder what his buddies are thinking of him, the cop that wrote the ticket, now.

stupid

my opion is that somebody that has enough courage and cares about wildlife that rescuses a drowning animal should be commened instead of being fined but thats the law they procet the criminals and proscute the innocnt some law officals just watch somebody so they can give them a ticketif they were there they should have told these young men to put thier life vest on thet just let them rescue the deer then give them a ticket which is bull$$$ jmo

.

I probably would not have wrote the ticket, but what if, for a moment, what if one of the rescuers with no life jacket got swept away?
What if he was found down river alive and a rescuers life was claimed because this guy had no flotation device on while rescuing an animal just on impulse?
If this was a human life, there would be no argument, but it wasnt! No one is going to spend months or perhaps years mourning the loss of the deer! A human being is another matter!
No one is considering the risk these guys put rescue personnel in. Even though nothing happened, it very well could have because when one of those guys got swept away then rescue personnel would have had a duty to act!

So you do not agree? The danger these guys placed theirselves in as well as placing rescue workers in danger who potentially would have had to rescue them is real, not fictional at all!

It said that they had personal flotation devices on board, they just did not put them on. I don't know the law there but here in NC you do not have to wear them unless you are a child.

It sounds to me like some one got ticked off because these two guys did something while the professionals did nothing.

Could be. I am only looking at it objectively!

This story reminded me of the OSHA inspector who was inspecting a pipe job. The ditch was not deep enough to shore the sides so they did not. One man in the ditch happened to be leaning over when the wall collasped and covered him. The two men on top jumped down and quickly dug him out, saving his life. The inspector wrote the two men a citation for being in the ditch without hard hats. In this case the citation was dropped when it was appealed.
