I hate gut piles

Took the dogs out last night and it seems like all I did was chase them off of one deer gut pile to another. I've broke them off of trash but I never thought to break them off gut piles.

Anybody have the same problem?

I think gut piles are good for the coons and have treed many coons over the years near a gut pile. A Garmin and Tritronics make a big difference in a dog. Last winter was bad here and many, many deer died. It was a mess in the woods when the thaw came but I bet it made a real difference to the survival of the coons. My dog didn't mess with the dead deer, he was too busy treeing coons off them.

I USE to hate gut piles. With TriTronics and Garmin, gut piles are just another very minor training challenge. I also never bothered to bust pups off holes but now, it's too easy to pass up the chance to break that fault too. (Assuming you consider it a fault.)
For me it is very simple. My dog (and it don't matter if it 12 months old or 12 years old) shows treed and isn't barking for 2 minutes or more, it gets a correction.

Dont have that problem where I hunt, the Buzzards have learned to come to a gun shot. Ive shot deer and the buzzards would be circling before I even gutted it, of course that also means you cant hang one in the woods either, LOL
