Trash collar

My best huntin' buddy keeps one on his dogwhile huntin'.And it ain't for trash.Reason he keeps it on him is if he trees somewhere that Allen can't easily enough get to him,he'll first try callin' him off the tree.Usually he'll come.If not,he gives him the little warning buzz.won't be long,he'll be right at your feet.Trust me,there's been many times that I wish I had my Gr.Nt.Ch.trained that way.

And if they are trained and you know what you are doing, they may not be laying in the road dead.

Shock collar is only as good as the guy useing it. I have changed my thinking and now my dogs wear the collar whenever they are out. If used right and the dog is properly collar conditioned you can think of it as a REAL long leash. I lost a real good young dog to the road this summer that i could have saved if she would have had a collar on.

What if your dog is a cross a 10 foot deep river and 60 yard wide. I run one on my dog. Don't use it much but there has been more than once I have treed on the other side of this river and had to walk 30 mins to the house load the dog box drive around to the other side 20 mins then walk 20 to 30 mins to get to my dog. It sucks by yourself and when you have a cast or friends with you.

Some people can think outside the box, some can't.

Perfect response !!!
Seems to me the higher strung dogs these days are also as a rule pretty darn smart, but in the "heat of the hunt" they may object to certain commands and I see that as desire. A beep tone or a gentle tickle can get their attention and can make a big difference in the evening. An old timer once told me that when he went out ..."he was hunting the dog, he didnt need the dog hunting him all night".................................

#1-GROW UP!!!
#2--LEARN HOW TO SPELL BEFORE YOU GET ON THE MESSAGE BOARDS BOASTING ABOUT ALL YOUR COONHUNTIN' KNOWLEDGE.NO ONE CAN HARDLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE EVEN TRYIN' TO SAY.
#3- i CHALLENGE YOU ANY DAY TO BRING YOUR BEST HOUND DOWN HERE TO WHERE I LIVE AND I'LL PUT YOU IN A SWAMP THAT I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE HE'LL TREE IN AND YOU CAN GO AFTER HIM.I'LL CALL YOU OUT.THERE'S A REASON WE ALL CALL IT "NO MANS" LAND.
Rob Gregory

p.s.- If you do come,be sure it's after the first of May when the swamp is infested with cottonmouths.

Numerous posts on here have answered your question and you still won't listen. It has NOTHING TO DO with running trash! NOTHING! It's all about getting your hound to handle to the best of it's ability. You get out and hunt in these hunts and you will find a lot of guys run shockers on their dogs all the time. I've been smoked by plenty of them wearing shockers. With a shocker you can call a dog in when you need to. If you absolutely can't get to a dog treed (and you should realize this happens from time to time living in the mountains) you may have to tickle them to get them to you. It's not the ideal situation, but sometimes you have to.

You asked a question, you got the answer multiple times, if you don't like the answer fine, but there are people on here who have raised coondogs for longer than you or I have and run shockers on their dogs. Get over it. No one is telling you you have to. In fact the topic was brought up by YOU not anyone else.

Also as a side-note, there were guys who said the same thing about tracking collars when they came out. "If you had a real coondog, you wouldn't need no tracking collar." I guess we all know that's false now.
