It happened again last night.

I was working my Zepp Squaller pretty hard trying to give a pup a better look at a coon, when I heard rustling in the leaves behind me. This is the third or fourth coon I've had run into the squaller over the years; I hope none of them come in MAD. Tom

LOL!!!! Well, one thing's for sure-----that would definitely give the pup a better look at a coon. You don't reckon the coon was rabid do ya?

I haven't had any come into me but That is the best squaller I've had for getting them to walk out of the tree. Some times when I don't want them to. The only thing about them is I go threw reeds pretty fast.
I think they come into you becouse your big enough they think you are a tree. LOL

No, I don't think they are sick, but I honestly don't know why they come into the squaller. It doesn't happen a lot, once every "blue moon"; it's just a rare occurance for me, thought I would mention it. I'm hunting two littermate sisters almost two; they seem to make the same mistakes when I hunt them together, so I send them separate twice and together every third drop. This female had treed a coon and wasn't sure, so I encouraged her and this particular coon wanted to walk down the side of the tree. She saw him once and really cranked up the adrenaline, so I was trying to show him to her the second time when the other coon came in. Tom

I would think the coon that came to you would be "angry" to say the least but not rabid. You are immitating the sound of a coon being ... what shall I say? I don't think they are mistaking you for a tree. They just want to know what is making that coon give off a distress signal I think. Whatever sound you are getting from that squaller is the RIGHT one.

I have had a sow come into the tree when I was squaling under kittens a time or two but never under grown coon. Tom you better be careful. If you get into thik coon the coon may like the odds one of these nights.LOL

Pigsit or other decent squallers post a video of you squalling I'd sure like to hear someone squall gOod. Most of the people around here just blow and hope the noise makes them looks.

That is pretty much what I do. Hard and loud and make is warble a little by covering and undovering the end of the squaller with a finger. In the right time of year more will walk out than won't. The other part of the year they might look and they might not.

Successful coon squalling pretty much depends on the coon. I have seen some lay on a limb and never look, and I've seen some run all over the top of the tree, like a race horse. The Zepp Squaller does help though; they seem to look at it under most conditions. Tom
