tring to settle an argument

I am tring to settle an argument between two friends. Does a dog have to be up to date on their shots to be able to hunt at an ukc event?

No they don't have to have ever had a shot to hunt. I have never even heard of that and I've hunted a bunch of hunts

He's prob referring to hunts like autumn oaks or grand American where you must show upto date shots if approached by law!

I was talking about the UKC hunts not the big ones just the ones done by the ukc clubs and etc so the Autumn Oaks and Grand America you have to have the up to date shots with you just in case?

Any big hunt, AO, WC, GA ect it is best to have current records with you just in case approached by an animal control officer, not ukc. Also (never heard of any one being check) some states require a current health certificate when transporting animals ( including dogs ) accross state lines.

I've never been asked for anything at a hunt. Have had to show rabies certificate for border crossings into and back from Canada. I believe a sick or unhealthy dog can be asked to leave any hunt.
If you get into what might happen if asked my law enforcement to see a rabies certificate or possibly even a dog license we might be amazed at the out come if you don't have it. Mostly rabies.
