Well, i'm sure that every coon you have shot out came out completely dead, you have probaly never missed the head. The dog killing a coon that isn't completely dead is part of the sport. I guess we could just tie the dog back and let the coon die a slow death. Our intentions are for the coon to come out dead, most of the time it does, but anyone that says they knock out 100% of the coon dead is a liar. I don't recall ever saying my pup was tough, when I say he jumped in to kill the coon I meant he grabbed it and got some fur in his mouth. That coon was a good head shot anyway. So I guess I didn't do a very good job of explaining it. I really do appreciate the good advice that I get from this site, but I don't appreciate someone basically telling me that I'm not a good sportsman because a coon wasn't dead when he came out. I've seen far worse descriptions on here about killing coons and squalling coons out to dogs and things of this nature. Thanks for the advice. I will be looking into some books to help me.
