I too have the same problem when coming in and unloading.....I am in the city with neighbors all around and backing in the dog trailer, the dogs that didn't go know what's up.

I bought the PetSafe one..........was surprised how well it worked......then after 3 days they became immune to it so back to the store it went.

5 dog shock collar, yell QUIET, then shock. Just have to break the cycle and teach the command. THEN INFORCE. When they figure out they only have to do it when the collar is on and don't mind when it isn't. Tell them quiet and when they don't mind put the collar on and shock HARD. They learn if they don't mind with out the collar the punishment is you putting it on and shocking. If the collar isn't handy a switch will do for a part time replacement. It takes a little time but there is no replacement for training. Nice to hollar quiet and everyone shuts the heck up.

Okie Dawg, LOL, problem is, the E-collars are on the dogs in the truck and trailer when backing in.

Some have figured out dummy collars don't work...........they know when the real live collars is on, then they are quiet, but real live collars are on the other dogs necks that went hunting.

get a 6 dog system, where you can single each dog out yet... or 3 two dog systems lol good luck keeping the controllers in line of which one it's one

Yea but you are home at that point and can put them on the barking dog and burn the heck out of them for not minding or switch the heck out of them and teach them there is punishment for not minding. I never put a dummy collar on a dog in my life. If they don't mind and I have to put a collar on to get them to. They are going to get a good correction for not minding and me haveing to put the collar on in the first place. Doesn't take them long to figure out if they don't mind the collar goes on and they scream. LOL
I have to remind them every now and then. The walker is the worst at being bull headed.
I know yawl have a lot of dogs and the switch would be more practical for you. When I had a lot of dogs I used it a lot more than the collar.

I've tried the bird house and just like Buckshot stated after two or three days its useless..I've bought a pair of bark stoppers that you see advertised in many newspaper thruout the country, junk! The best I've used is a bark collar from Sport Dog, it pretty much stopped them most of the time. Its pretty hard to keep them quite when your loading up one of the other hounds to go hunting. I like Okie's replys they are always with much humor..

I run 4 dogs at a time..........so I have a 4 dog 3200 unit. I do have another transmitter I can marry the collars to but no available collars to marry to LOL.

I see SportDog has their new multi dog system out that has the multi tone feature..............if I can scrape up for a 4 dog system, then I'll have two 4 dog systems.

OKIE, it's more of an issue at night since we are on a dead end with nothing but fields and woods at the end and houses on the other side of us.

I don't want to completely break them from barking at night as it is ALARM when bad activity is taking place out front -- after house being broken into a few years back, my wife likes the heads up from the dogs when I am not here that someone is out front.

I have an old Lab that does not bark in the middle of the night unless someone is out there --- my neighbor whose back yard meets my side and backyard caty corner knows his bark and gets up and sees what is going on when the Lab barks.

LOL, just want them to shut up when I back the dog trailer in and unload the ones that hunted.

My opinion

is-----don't waste your money.I bought the 3rd one (the ultra-sonic).Piece of crap. They didn't even skip a beat.Even with the darn thing turned as high as it would go.E-collar is your best bet in my opinion. If dogs have a lick of sense,I found that a command followed by a lick from a piece of pneumatic hose works pretty good too.Good luck.

When I am leave the ones left behind will bark while I'm loading but stop a minute after I leave. I have a wiffle ball bat I keep by my kennels and when I come back if they bark I yell shut up and hit the kennel door with the bat that calms them. if one is feeling froggy then I enter the kennel with the bat and remind them who the leader of the pack is.

HERE IS MY PROBLEM WITH THE E-COLLAR SITUATION

I LIVE AT THE OTHER END OF THE 150 ACRE FARM!!

I NEVER HEAR THEM BARKING! GMA SAYS SOON AS I LEAVE WHAT EVER I DONT CARRY SINGS THE WHOLE TIME IM GONE LOL.

MY KENNELS ARE ON A 3 ACRE PART WHERE OUR 2 PONDS ARE, MY GMA IS AT THE FRONT OF THE FARM , SHE IS 3 ACRES FROM THEM AND CAN HEAR THEM GOOD, THEY DO NOT BOTHER MY AUNT AND MA , BUT GMA THEY GET ON HER NERVES AND AT THE AGE SHE IS HER NERVES IS KINDA BAD AND I RESPECT HER.

IF I HAVE TO I WILL TRY AND MOVE EVERYTHIN ON THE END OF THE FARM WHERE MY HOME IS , I JUST HATE TO TRY AND MOVE A 4 RUN KENNEL ON DECKING BOARDS , 2 ABOVE GROUND KENNELS FROM DEER CREEK AND A 20x20x10 ALUMINUM BUILDING WHERE I SELL FEED AND HANG OUT BEFORE AND AFTER HUNT .

I GOTTA FIGURE OUT SOMETHING BUT IF I HAVE TO MOVE IT I WILL CAUSE GMA MEANS MORE TO ME THAN HOUNDS!

I REKON I WILL TRY BARK COLLARS .

BARK COLLARS HAVE WORKED FOR ME TO A POINT. AFTER I TAKE THEM OFF THEY NEED THEM AGAIN IN A FEW DAYS. OVER ALL I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THOUGH MY DOGS NEVER BARK MUCH IN THE PEN UNTIL AROUND DARK AND THAT IS VERY LITTLE. I HAVE ALSO SEEN THE PLUG IN TYPE WORK ONLY A FEW DAYS AND THEN THEY THINK ITS A JOKE. A buddy of mine had a dog that barked all the time , tried everything and sold him after he chewed 2 bark collars to pieces. Still I wonder how did he get those collars off.

Try what I do. Put all your time in one dog and get rid of the rest. Dog will be better feed bill will be less and your neighbors will be happy.

Yep 6-8 hours a night as many nights a weak as you can on 1-2 is all I can handle. Had 3 and 1 of them is out on trial becouse I couldn't hunt all 3 enough. A lot of people hunt more than one at a time though.

You want a pack hound hunt in a pack. You want a coondog hunt them alone unless you meet up with a buddy or are comp hunting.

Sure is nice to have 2 that way if something bad happens to 1 dog you still have 1 to hunt. I say this from experience.

ultrasonic kennel silencer

My dad bought the untrasonic kennel silencer, and I know they aren't cheap. He said it seems to work for the nuisance and boredom barking but doen't phase them when they get to barking real heavy.

I like the training myself but with thin coon and not hunting on buckets it takes a little longer to start one. Once my pup starts treeing with my older dog some I will single him out by himself.
