Did your dogs hunt out past a few yards??

Another possible problem is that you actually know how to use the Garmin unlike a lot of people who like to complain about them.

If these are not options you may need to call Garmin and tell them that your collar is working perfectly and it is stopping you from joining in with all the Garmin haters on here and they may let you trade one of your collars in for a broke one.

Hope this helps

Sounds like you have the same problem with yours I have with mine then. You will just have to suck it up and be able to deal with the fact that you will always know where your dogs are at while hunting.

Well my Garmin is 7 months old and up until the other day I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Well.. it has blew up on me. Never had a single problem until the other night when it would not re-gain signal and would not pick up more then a couple hundred yards. I did all the updates, checked the connectors, re added the collars but all for nothing. Don't think for a minute they are solid. When they work right they are nothing short of amazing but when they fail you and youre dog they are a piece of crap.

Mine doesn't start looseing the dogs till about 500 yds. They will pick them back up most the time till they get around 700 yds. out. Then you better go around the section to find them. I have a truck antenna but have never had to use it.
Makes a lot of differance if they are in the creek or on the bank and how deep the creek banks are.
I think the main thing about the garmin is that even when you loose them you know wear they were and which way they were going when you did. Makes it easy to find them if you need to.

I've had mine since may of 08 with no major problems. Had a button on the handheld act up a little, had to push it a few times to get it to work sometimes. Garmin replaced the whole unit for free even though my warranty had ended. I've got 3 DC-30 collars and never had a bit of trouble out of either of them.

Just wait til youre excited to go hunting and all the sudden it stops picking up signal. Or looses signal after 200 yards. Sure you can send it back and they will replace it if youre warranty isn't up but now youre screwed without a tracker for a few weeks.

garmin

Garmin, in my opinion is a perfect training tool, its amazing what you can learn. Pleasure hunting it is a pretty good tracking system. But if you are competition hunting you better have a radio system. its to easy for a dog to get out range and in trouble while its turned off, I learned the hard way.~~~~Jeff

My warranty had been over for close to 3 months and Garmin replaced my whole unit and had it back to me within a week.
