Garmin collar ?

How do you know when to replace the battery? How do you go about getting a new battery?

I've had mine on charge all day. The blue light is still on. I can turn the collar on where the red lights are flashing. It won't link up to the astro.. You pull the charger out of the wall and everything go's off. It done this one other time when I had not used the coller for a few weeks. Then it started working?

Take the silver plate off of the collar. Unscrew the small phillips head screws. Disconnect the battery and wait a minute or two. Reconnect and everything should be up to par.

Well I'm going to let it charge for awhile and see what happen's. I disconected the battery and let it set for a few minutes. I hooked everythig back up, hit the power button, and...... Nothing. Plugged the charger back up to it, hit the power button, and I have leds.. unplug the coller and everthing go's out? I hope I can let it charge for a few and it starts working..

I was having the same problem, however, mine showed that it was charged. Tried to reset the collar by unplugging the battery and the blue light remained on when charging in the house. I read on another post to try the car charger. I tried it today with the car charger, it charged fine and the blue light did not stay on after it was charged.

Glad to hear it worked out for you! I had the same problem about a year ago and had to call Garmin, sit on hold for about 30 min., and have them email me the same directions I posted here for it to work again!

From experience, I would say your battery is dieing out. Once I did what I told you to do, as time went on, I was taking the battery out almost every time I had to charge it.

I got sick of that and called Garmin and sent mine in. They sent a brand new one back and it's still working good a year later!

i put mine on charge the other day. blue lights never went off. i thought the battery was bad in it. it showed it was 3/4 of the way charged. i got another charger and hooked it up. it finally charged fully and works fine. might be your charger. I've used this same charger before and never had any problems. I don't know why the charger would work one day and not the next.

take a q-tip and some alcohol and clean the connection on the charger and collar. a few times i had to pull the little copper tabs out on the charger with a pocket knife. my charger and collar do the same thing sometimes but after cleaning it, it works fine.
