Strike Question

Pretty sure I know this one just want to make sure.

Two dog cast dog A strikes and trees. Dog B not struck. After scoring tree for dog A dog B is heard treed in the distance. I know both get 125 for tree.

Question is does B get 100 or 75 for strike. It wasnt called struck and treed until after A's tree had been scored. Dog A was on leash waiting to be recast when B was called.

strike points

All dogs have to be off leash to get first strike, so the dog goes in for 75

Once Dog A's tree had been scored without any other dog "struck" in 100 strike would now be available.

I believe to be eligable for 100, Dog A would have to be re-cast.

As long as Dog A is handled, Dog B strikes in for 75.

In this scenerio, how can dog B compete for first strike when dog A is handled?

Because technaclly all dogs were treed. Once all dogs are treed and scored first strike opens back up.

thats correct but the man said: "It wasnt called struck and treed until AFTER A's tree had been scored. Dog A was on leash waiting to be recast when B was called" otherwise I would agree with you.. so i'm going with 75

I mean think about it fellas. Obviously, Dog B was striking his own track NOT Dog A's track.

No maybe i'm wrong but i'm telling ya I have seen it judged this way for years. I have seen it happen several times where all dogs are treed except for one that isn't struck. score dogs and the handler trees the other dog and he goes in for 100 everytime. Maybe they were all doing it wrong to ?

Yeah, they were all doing it wrong. First strike can only be available if all dogs are off leash and competing for strike. That is the rule in every KC, UKC,PKC, AKC.

Lot of rules have been judged wrong for a lot of years, dog is struck in for 75. Your trying to move your dog up on strike like they do on split trees !! LOL
