You mean Inbreeding

I have some pups from such a breeding -- only time will tell, but I expect them to be better than their parents which are quite good themselves.

I have never made a cross that tight but we line breed our dogs. I have some pups now that have old Boone 6 times in 5 generations. We have three that are 4 times Boone in 3 generations and have had excellent success with doing this. I cant wait to breed one of the 6 times Boone gyps to a double Boone sire. 8 times Boone means POWER!!! lol

Inbreeding

I know a fella who did that 2 or 3 times. First he bred a daughter to her father. Then he bred the same sire to a daughter of that litter, and I think he did it one more time.

He did this specifically to see if there were any bad genes in his stud dog. I wonder how many studs could stand up to that test? I do know I wouldn't recommend breeding that tight unless the breeder is going to be totally responsible for all the dogs produced.

From a personal stand point both individuals would have to be absolutely suited to each other before I made a cross that tight.

Either way ya go best of luck.

Larry

If you don't mind, what was the end result in the example you gave?

Hey Walkerfied

I did a pretty heavy Boone cross here once. Sire is Double Boone bred and Dam is Triple making the pup's 5X Boone in 5 generations. Colored up nice and were some pretty serious tree dogs but lacked in size. I have a picture of one of the pups at 1 year old on my website. Incedently I am selling the double Boone bred male.

Look for the album titled PUP'S DOING THE JOB IN THEIR NEW HOMES. The 5X Boone pup is named BOMBER. Think he might be for sale too.

I couldnt get your page to work. Is the sire of the pups titled?
How exactly is he bred? If you get your pics to work let me know I would like to see them.

http://personalpages.tds.net/~k9pines/page5.html
go to the bottom of the page and click on PHOTO ALBUM from there find the album listed OUR TREEING WALKERS and
PUP'S DOING THE JOB IN THEIR NEW HOMES

Ridge does have his 'CH' title but is not ready for the comp hunts yet. He has treed his own coons but still needs time in the woods.
I will scan a copy of his pedigree and try to post it.
