registering dogs

My dogs are currently ADBA registered and conform more to the ADBA standard than to the UKC standard (they're more lean and rangy).

I live in a rural part of Mississippi.

My question is: Will it be difficult to obtain UKC registration on my ADBA type dogs?

Thank you for your interest in United Kennel Club. As long as your dog meets the requirements listed below and does not possess any disqualifying faults, you should be able to register your dog easily.

Qualifications for registering an American Pit Bull Terrier are as follows: 1. The dog must currently be registered with a UKC acknowledged registry or both parents must be UKC registered. *If both parents are UKC registered, the single registration can only be done by the owner of the dam at the time of breeding. Acknowledged registries include AKC, ADBA, Canadian Kennel Club or FCI. 2. The dog must have a complete three-generation pedigree. 3. The dog must be inspected or a VHS video presentation provided and 4. The dog must be at least one year of age. The total fee for registration is $35.00 ($25.00 money order made payable to UKC and one money order made payable to the NAPBTA or one money order in the amount of $35.00 payable to UKC if a video presentation is used).

If you would like, you may download the application by clicking here http://ukcdogs.com/rg/forms.shtml and clicking on the form called American Pit Bull Terrier Application for Single Registration. You may view the Inspectors list there as well. (http://www.ukcdogs.com/rg/pdf/apbt-inspectors.html) In the event that you cannot download the application, please forward your name and address and I will put it out in the mail for you.

We look forward to receiving your application for review.

Thank you,

Acknowledged Breeds

Hi, I'm totally new to this wonderful world of pedigree dogs. My husband recently purchased a beautiful min pin puppy, which I was told was registered and had a pedigree. When we recieved the paperwork we found she was registered with America's Pet Registery. My question is - Is APR one of the registeries recognized by UKC? We are interested in showing her and will be starting obedience classes this week but found we can't get her into a conformation class unless she's registered with the kennel club thats sponsoring the class. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.
