Aspergillosis

Anyone ever have a dog get this. It is an infection in a dogs nose.

One of the side effects of it is it can cause destruction of some parts a dogs nasal cavity and decrease their ability to smell.

If you have had a dog get this did it seem to hurt it's nose at all after it recovered???

WOW.....I hope that isnt what my pup has then. Yesterday I noticed a couple pink blisters on his nose and today it has gotten worse. Researched it on the internet today and that seems like it could be what he has. Taking him to the vet in the morning. Fingers crossed its not Aspergillosis.

Be Thankful its a pup if he has it, All three I know of were Top Hounds, one was already Titled and reproducing, he went on to be a pretty prominant Stud but the owner told me he could see a coon cross the road and he couldnt run it. No Vet ever gave any of them a Deffinant Diagnossis of Aspergillosis, but all said thats what they thought it was, they took them to Specialist and everything. Good Luck.

How could,or,WHY would a breeder continue to breed such a hound?? Money maybe?? It sure couldnt be for the bettering of the breed. No more than is known about this it could be genetics. If U have a dog that is not better than average do the sport a favor and DISPOSE of it. At least neuter or spay.
I wonder did this "BREEDER" ,as you call him, tell all the females owners that his "STUD" couldnt smell catsh*T if it was in his mouth???

I never used him because I thought it may be Genetic also, but I have never heard of any of his ancestors getting it, and he really reproduced. some pups and grandpups out of him at stud still today.People that own them really enjoy them. Im not sure I made the right decision. But I see your point of view. But I dont see anywhere I called anyone a " BREEDER"
