my dog was doing that. the vet took a swab and determined that she had a yeast and bacterial infection. i didn't know that was posible but that's what she said. she gave me some Tresaderm to put into her ears. that's the hard part. this 60lb plott doesn't like me messing with her ears.

Head Shaking

We have tried these. They help keep things under control. Nothing has cured the problem yet.

Mix 1/2 proxide & 1/2 alcohol. Keep in old alcohol bottle. I usually use this after we wash (fill ears & soak rag & clean ears)

Ear Canker Mix: 2 oz. providone-Iodine & 14 oz. cidar vinegar. I keep solution in a large mouth mason jar with lid.
I use a syringe w/out needle. Draw solution into syringe & inject into ear. Message Ears. Do this 2x's a day till better. 1x a day till symptons gone. Then ever-other-day for a week or two. Repeat as needed.

Ear Mites:
16 oz. Bottle Alcohol
4 Tbsp.'s Boric Acid Powder (Pharmacy)
16 drops Gentian Violet 1% Solution (Pharmacy)
1 Syringe Full (w/out needle) or Ear Dropper Full (Each Ear)
Must Shake before each use.
TREATMENT Schedule:
2x's a day for 2 weeks
1x a day for 2 weeks
1x per month there after or as needed.

Tried severl ear mite treatments sold with sulfur in them (for earmites & mange).

Tried Happy Jack Ear mite (Mitrex??)

Have also tried Monostat 7 & Tinactin Powder (I like using the Powder it seems not be so harsh on the dog. Keeps ears dry inside. Have also given penicilin shots from time to time.
Never tried penicilin or ivermec inside the ear????

Tried changing Dog Food: went from PurinaOne Lamb/Rice to DiamondNaturals Chicken/Rice or Lamb/Rice. 2 full bags for that dog only. Did not help.
Good Luck

I have a 9 yr old English male that has "soup ear". This remedy does help control it and eases the torment some. My vet also said that it rarely ever goes away. I've been treating him regularly for about 5 years. It didn't become a problem til he was about 4 yrs old

cure

1 bottle
12 bayer asprin pills
fill the bottle up with rubbing alcohol until it is above the pills
2 table spoons of water
2 table spoons of peroxide
2 table spoons of white viniger
shake it really good until milky and take a syringe and maybe squirt 1-2 cc in its ear. then refridgerate the stuff in the bottle until you need it again.
works for cuts or anything and heals up quick
im a young coon hunter only 25 but this was past down to me from a really old coonhunter years ago when i was a boy.
GOODLUCK
