You have some one in your area that sells Pro Plan at a fair price. I was heading home last summer to tn, stopped in Avon to fill up and saw a truck loaded with Pro Plan. I asked him where he was going with all the food and he was a coonhunter heading to Richmond. Said a fella in Danville sold the feed to him. BUT to your question Joy has been around a long time and is a fair feed.

Try Hi-Standard dog food. I feel this is the best dog food on the market today. Go out Hi-standarddogfood.com and find a distributor near you. I never had any luck with Diamnond or joy dog food.

I have to agree with the Hi-Standard statement, I was reluctant to make the switch. It is the best dog food that I have fed in the last 20 years, dogs have excellent energy, stool volume very low and the dogs hair is very shiny.

Been feeding the Hi-Standard 26-18 and I love it.

I WON SOME ONE TIME, DID NOT FEED IT TO MY DOGS. USED IT IN THE COON FEEDER. THE REASON I DID NOT USE IT WAS I HAD BEEN FEEDING MY USUAL BRAND FOR OVER A YEAR AND DID NOT WANT TO MIX IT.

I'M IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU ARE I HAD A WEIGHT PROBLEM WITH A GYP I HAVE AND I WENT AROUND THE WORLD TRYING DIFFERENT FEED. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I HAVE FEED THE JOY MAINTENANCE AND NOW I'M TRYING OUT THE JOY PROFESSIONAL 26/18 I TOOK HER OFF OF HER AUTO FEEDER YESTERDAY TO THIN HER DOWN BEFORE HAVING HER PUPS. BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION I HAVE FEED JOY MAINTENANCE,JOY REGULAR IN THE RED/WHITE BAG AND A JOY THAT WAS IN A YELLOW BAG NOT SURE OF THE NAME BUT NOW I'M ON THE JOY PROFESSIONAL NOW AND SHES DUE IN AUG. BUT I HAVEN'T HAD NO OTHER ISSUES WITH JOY ITS JUST OK NOT NOTHING TO AWESOME. THIS JOY PRO IS MADE WITH TWO DIFFERENT MEATS AND I PUT SOME IN THERE TODAY AND SHE JUMP ALL OVER IT AND SHE USUALLY DOESN'T EAT IN FRONT OF ME. SO WE'LL SEE HOPEFULLY THIS WILL WORK.

I HAVEN'T TRIED THE ENHANCED OR SPORTMIX OR BLACK/GOLD CAUSE YOU CAN'T GET IT AROUND HERE THAT I CAN FIND I HEAR SPORTMIX IS REALLY GOOD FEED. TRYED DIAMOND,OLD BLUE,ALPO,OL ROY, AND SOME OTHERS I CAN'T REMEMBER BUT EVERYONE HAD ITS DOWN FALLS THAT YOU COULD REALLY TELL SOME MADE THEIR STOOL LOOSE,SOME MADE THEIR COAT DULL,OTHERS LESS ENERGY, I THINK UNTIL YOU GET OUT OF THE $20 RANGE THEY ALL WILL LACK A LITTLE BUT I JUST CAN'T AFFORD A $35 BAG OF DOG FOOD.

Hi-Standard for sure. I get mine from Ritchie Phillips near Corning, AR. Compares to Black Gold but at a much better price. Joy feed is worthless because it all ends up on the ground.

feed................

The Joy, BlackGold, Hi-Standard, Dog Chow, etc.etc. are all just a decent dog food, nothing to brag about...........I have tried them all..............you get what you pay for, feed what you can afford.

I feed Purina, some get Dog Chow, some get Purina One, every once in a while I will get a bag of Pro-Plan Performance.........the Diamond Extreme Athelete is a GREAT dog food, as well as Native 3 and 4..................... these feeds cost alot more, but you use less.

Just my 2 cents worth, to answer your question Brad, I wouldnt feed Joy........................Tim

Not all of it. lol. Believe it or not the dogs body uses some of it. More in some feeds and less in some. Feed what you like. It's your money.

I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH PURINA. DOGS SEEM TO TO WELL ON IT. I HAVE TRIED A FEW OTHERS AND DOGS SEEM TO GET POOR. ALSO BEING IN THE PURINA PRO CLUB HAD SOME ADVANTAGES. I CASHED IN SOME OF MY PURINA POINTS AND PICKED UP MY GARMIN ASTRO. BUT I MUST AGREE WITH SOME OF YOU THE PRICES ARE GETTING RIDICULOS.

Boys I have tried them all, I have beagles, coonhounds, and fox hounds----and I am still feeding Hi-Standard Dog Food. Switched to Hi-Standard from Black Gold years and years ago.

Like i have said on here before, as long as they do not change the ingredients in this dog food, I will not switch. I order 5 tons at a time from local distributor and they deliver it to my barn door. Cant beat it!

Just tried Hi-Standards new 30-20 formula on my fox hounds and I love the results---little pricey, but a great food.

My female has always stayed real skinny. I tried alot of different feeds, & would feed her 4 or 5 cups a day sometimes more. Then I decided to try Diamond Extreme athlete, & she looks great on it, even acts better. I feed her 2 cups a day & she is in great shape! I want feed anything else!
