Hunting Pregnent Female!

Has anyone ever had any experience getting a female snake bite? I had my female bred & have been hunting her, but had a buddy warn me that it may not be a good idea! We have alot of Water Moccasins, copperheads, & rattle snakes! And its not uncommon for a hound to get snake bit around here, while its hot & dry!

i would run her on 4 wheeler and keep her exercised but i dont think i would chance getting her bit/hell i bred my female and she goes so hard im scared to hunt her cause of the money i have so far in getting the breeding done/style has already run 1 stick through her chest and came out under her shoullder and survived and shes alll i got left out of my old female and just scared something will happen but i can tell you it kills me evry nite to leave her sittin but i guess its better than something happening and not having nothin to hunt at all out of my old blood. so i guess you got to ask yourself tonite do you feel lucky.? and my answer is always no.

HUNT EM! Pennacillin or Benadryl either hurts one.....I would worry more about the heat than I would the snakes....

I know somebody that had a dog snake bit and the pups were stillborn. Don't know for sure if that caused it.

She had three more litters with no problems.

I like hunting female while bred because it helps keep them in shape but so does roading them or running them on the treadmill.

My females is being bred this week and I won't be hunting her until she has them.

You could always ask your vet!

or breakout Rambo

Kenny,

How are you doing?

You are right . I had a female copperhead bit and she carried the pups alright. A friend had a female rattlesnake bit and she lost all her pups. Some were still born, the others died in a few days.

Bit who knows. They need the exercise, and they can get bit here in the pin.

I breed my Joy female four weeks ago. I've hunted her three times since then. I worry about her all the time she is in the woods Just being careful where and how long I hunt her.....
