what would you do if you had some one calling the game warden all the time on you for hunting coons and doin some training?i tell ya i'm getting tired of getting checked everytime i go out on my land to do some hunting for coons during season and when season is over i don't take no guns with me or anything.and everytime i get out. i got a game warden standing at my truck wanting to see license's. but the problem is i owen the land i'm hunting on and i know my dogs haven't went on no one elses land.so what do you all think i shoud do? i tried to find out whos calling in so i can go talk to them or what ever and i can't find out who it is.but the game warden is getting tired of finding out thats it 's me everytime he has to come out on the call.

I would say that it is the game warden's problem

You would think that after while he would see a pattern here and if he has checked you before and everything is on the level, he must be pretty bored or a couple bricks shy of a load. lol

lol i heard that i just tink he is bored or somehting but i he's got my number now and he said if he gets a call he will call me and see if it's me or not.but if it's not me ihe iwll come and see who it is so he can check them out and see what they are doin wrong or somehting. but he is the nicest game warden that i meet in a long time. i hope he stays in this county because if he finds something that needs to be fixed. and then he will tell you and give you a warning the first time. i had some buddys with me. and they didn't have thier hunters saftey course. and he gave them a waring and told them when the next class is goin to be. and we all went to take it.but i already had mine i just went to watch them go threw it and have some laughs.

Leave a note on your truck with some coffee and doughnuts for the GW. After a certain number of the same old calls he will have documented that the caller is a nut case and won't have to come check on you. Whoever it is is trying to get under your skin, don't let the time with the GW turn into anyone getting angry. Most of those folks are doing their job as best as they can. No doubt there are some who have attitudes but I don't figure they are the majority. If they figure that you are not a problem person then long term it will be good to be on their list of folks they don't need to worry about.

yea i know i'll take and get my tremos bottle and get it ready for some good hot coffee next time i go hunting. and stop by crispy kreme and pick up a dozen of the best donuts and leave him a message on my truck and tell him that they are in the tool box and tell him where the key is to the tool box. and see what he says the next time when he finds out it's me in there hunting.and waits untill i come out.but they ain't no one getting under my skin unless the shoot my coon hound or my truck while i'm hunting and thats about the only way they can get under my skin around here.

i thnk so too but i haven't done anything to anyone fo them to dislike me.i think they just don't like hunting for some reason.but they need to get over calling the game warden every time some one take and go hunting on their own land. but i don't think that will happen any time soon tho.i might have a peta or some kind of tree hugger thats lives around my property. i try to respet people when they are sleeping.i just get to my dogs right afther it trees to shut them up where it wouldn't wake them up.but that still ain't given the game warden a rest tho

Park a decoy truck out there and have your buddy pick you up and hunt some other place. Betcha a couple treatments like that and the warden will get tired of waiting on you to return.

Wow, that sure makes me happy to have all the private land we can hunt open to us. We have never had to deal with anything like that here. We just decide where we are going, call the land owner to leave the gate open or let them know we are going in there that night and do it. We have 3 places open to us that is not open to anyone else, we call them our 'honey holes' because we can tree a pile of coon in there and never run out of places to drop. We treat our land owners very good too. We never forget them at Christmas and we respect their land and NEVER leave it in bad shape.

well with our state they got a poaching hotline that they can call and they talk to a someone on the other end. and i don't think they record. but i'll call tomarrow and see if they record or what. and then see what i can come up with maybe i can get a them to give me the phone number so i can have the law do something about it.maybe i can get the law to make him stop callin in on me for hunting my own land.

We have a PETA lover near hear and he would call the law every time someone would park on the hyway close to his house (to catch dogs). The law finally told him that if he called again that he would be arrested for harrassment.

Your best bet is just hunt and stay friendly with the game warden, let them take care of it.

Find out who the warden is and pre-call and tell him you are heading out when you go. That way when someone calls he can say "yeah, he called and told me already". I bet that will stop the person that is reporting you when they find out the warden knows and doesn't care.

game warden

How bout this? Some farmers have been giving me coons that they catch in their barns to turn loose. A fellow coonhunter has seen me do this 15-20 times. The other nite I turned one loose as he past by shortly the game warden pulled up and wrote me a ticket for 187.50 for possesion of wildlife. I ask him what are the farmers supposed to do with troublesome coons in their barns, he said kill them. Sorry people in this world!

I would politely tell the game warden it is my property and if it is not me calling him then he doesn't need to worry about it and he should tell the caller he is not going on a call unless they have a problem on their own property. I would also hunt it every single night-maybe even twice per night and the decoy idea is awesome too! I recently had a neighbor scream and fire a shot when I was hunting on my own property. I sent him a polite but firm letter explaining who I was, what I do and the value of a coon dog and that I considered them like family. Also told him if it ever got too dangerous to hunt there I would put a subdivision on the property-really wouldn't, but hope it made him think lol

think about how much the GW is costing the tax payer. what value is he to the area? sounds like you have too many in the area with nothing for them to do. just another case of too much over reaching government. as a land owner you can bull doze the place flat and there would be no game. one day you can get put in jail for hunting a piece of property. the next day the property can be completely flatened and it wouldn't matter then what happened to all those possums and squirrels.
