Cast vote?

Upon arriving at the tree dogs are split about 40 feet apart in some thick stuff with a heavy canopy. Judge announces trees wil be scored as one and starts shine time. Cast members fire up the lights and realize 2 of the dogs are treed on a tree that is broke off about 10 feet off the ground and obveously slick with no route to the other tree. I requested a vote on wheather the trees were scored as one or separate and was told it was to late because shine time had started. And yet as a cast member it is against the rules to shine before instructed. What is the correct way to deal with this situation?
And yes the judges dog was on the snag.

Take it to the MOH. I'm betting you win that one. And mostly likely your judge will back down rather than face the prospect of arguing that one in front of a clubhouse full of his peers.

Thanks Jim, I had decided in my head that if we found the coon in the other tree i would put a ? on the card but as it turned out it was circled and made no difference in the outcome. Sometimes we have to pick our battles.

It may had made a differance though since his points would had been minused for slick and yours should had been circled though wouldn't it?
