Hunts in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee

As some on here know, I am not a coon hunter by trade. I have however hunted many times with friends and family over the years. Deer and rabbits is my thing with dogs so I really don't have any room for coon dogs. lol

I would however love to go to a hunt. I sorta miss those nights of hunting back home with those guys but even most of them don't hunt anymore. My uncle from Florence has passed on also. I know there is a club north of Florence but not sure if it is an UKC club. There is also one near Scottsboro, Al but like the other, not sure if is an UKC club. I can tell you that I know very little if anything about scoring coon hounds, just love to hear them run and tree. I would love to attend a hunt if possible so if anyone knows of any clubs in this part of the country I would love to know where and when and would I be welcome as a spectator?

Thanks

Brian Brewer aka AlabamaSwamper

I live in Huntsville. There are plenty of UKC clubs in your surrounding areas. Scottsboro, Arab, Lacey Springs, FT Payne, Rainsville, Bryant, and a few others. You can check the schedule of Alabama events via this link

Thanks guys. It means alot for folks to be so friendly.

I actually live in Grant, AL and I think I know where the club in Scottsboro is. Probably 20 minutes from the house. I have only lived in this part of the state for a year and a half so I don't know where alot of things are. Heck, I still drive an hour to run my beagles. I am on midnights a week from saturday and that figures. Always something I reckon. Thanks for the offer Daniel and I will for sure keep in touch for future hunts.

Its not the competition that is so important. It is more the sound of those hounds. Ain't nothing better than those big hounds that you can hear for two miles. lol I know one thing, there is plenty of coons around this part of the country for sure. Heck, down here at work on the river, they are everywhere. Can't understand why more folks don't hunt this TVA property by the dam.

Coon Dawg, I am a member of Haralson County Beagle Club near Cedar Town, GA and Buchanon. I know some folks in Essom Hills, just across the state line on 278. Well, AL 278. lol

I can hunt for $5.50 a day in GA for small game and plan on doing it some with them. If you have a great spot, I would love to come over and give them a try. Maybe we could kill a few bunnies to help you out. Some of my dogs are broke and some not but I run collars. If they run and don't come back, oh well, they ought to know better. Just hope my collars work, would hate to lose one. LOL

Im going to the hunt in Centre Tomorrow Night. Your more than welcome to tag along. Just follow the link that BuckShot posted and get directions and the dead line time, I think it's 7:00. Guess I need to look at it myself.....LOL Just look for the gold S-10 with the Fat little Redtick female tied on the bumper.
