need suggestions fellers

my male has got drags down perfect so i been carrying him to the woods with some older dogs and when we turn them loose mine acts like he wants to play till the others are gone out, then mine wants to run the road. i think he is trying to find a quick way to get to the others and/or scared of the woods. i took him one night and put him on a fresh track by himself and he had the track just didnt go in the woods for it. am i trying to hurry things up or what?

Just keep hunting him and putting him in the woods, but id try to break him from running roads. that gets dogs killed
