miconozale [sp?] 7 is available in the womens health aisle. It is used for yeast infections. the generic version is under $10. one tube should last a year. I have found it to heal the most persistent ear infections. dab a little on your finger and rub it deep into the ear. you should see results quickly.

One problem often leads to another. I would ask my vet for a prescription of batryil. Ear issues can become chronic.

Do a search to see what you can find. This topic comes up fairly frequently.

the vet had said that he had an yeast infection. Went back for a check up and it was all cleared up. Both tips of his ears healed except a spot on one. He is starting the scratch and shake his head more and the tip will not heal and continues to bleed. The area that is bleeding is inflamed compared to how thin the tip of an ear should be .

miconozale will cure that yeast infection, but they come back again and again. make it a weekly habit to put a dab in the ear. your dog will hunt better and tree better when his ears feel better.

Dog shaking head

Sounds like ear mites. Try using ivomec. Used properly it will control heartworms, intestinal worms, and mites. Be sure not to overdose. One tenth cc per ten pounds of weight. If I thought mine had mites I probably would use the correct dose twice a month for two months. This does not overdose and will break the cycle for mites.

Thanks for the help we have tried evey thing we know He has been to 3 different vets and none of them knew what was going on with his tips of his ears and all the suggestions they gave and medication they tried would not work. We used nu-stock to begin to help the tips of ears to heal and all has heal expect one spot.

Dog shaking head

I wear hearing aids and am a diabetic. I had problems with yeast infection in my ears. My ear doctor prescribed alcohol and white vinegar when I took the aids out at night, to clear it up. Did the trick for me. Burns the first few trips.

Help dog shaking head.

Mites will hatch in the bedding, hair, and ear wax. Waiting a month between ivomec treatments gives them a chace to reproduce. Important to break cycle. Don't remember exact cycle. Seems like about twenty days from hatching until reproduction.

I would look at my dog food if they said yeast infection because if the first ingredient on the label is CORN BASE that means it uses more of that than meat byproducts. This is a problem i have had in the past and spent hundreds trying to fix and it only took one old timer 5 minutes to fix. Years ago they ground corn for their dogs and this would happen to some of them takes only about 2 weeks to find out.

We have one dog that no matter what we feed him he gets ear "infections'/mites" alot we keep a bottle of T8 Keto in the house and check his ears often and if they even look just "dirty" we give him a good cleaning with that, helps alot. A bottle at the vet is about $13 and lasts for a little while. Not to bad for a cost to help prevent any problems left untreated or not noticed untill it is bad.

It does not sound like an internal ear infection. The vet should have analyzed that right away. It sounds like the tips of the dogs ears are necrotic and that infection starts at the tips and works its way to form a long wide split in the tip of the ear. I asked the same question you have about a year ago and somebody recommended nu-stock. I could see improvement in about a week. I think you are supposed to apply it every three days. Anyway, the leprosy looking thing quit getting bigger and within a month the scab had most healed but not quite. This might be a good thing because the tissues started regenerating and by the time it really healed all the way, the ear tip was almost round again. I figured it was going to be a permanent split the rest of his life but it wasn't. Keep using the nu-stock for as long as it takes. Maybe six months or more. That thing is a tough problem to cure and it must not be that common as it is around here, southeast coast.
