We deserve better solutions than that!!!!
Sure we could have vehicles with much better mpg. In fact, last week I read an article on stricter fuel efficiency requirements being implemented by the current administration.
Why we are more dependent on fossil fuels than other countries is complicated, but obviously a large part of the puzzle is our geography, a history of cheap fossil fuels, and a population density that probably did not support mass transit until recent times.
