How much do you think they should be worth???

Most times you enter a hunt there are at least 12 to 20 registered dogs.

Now if the entry fee is 20$ and you get a first place win with 20 dogs at the hunt that's roughly 300$ that's a heck of a payout.

I guess some people are never satisfied.

Look at how amazing the Garmin system is but yet many still complain at how it needs improved. We are never satisfied.

HOW ABOUT THIS....IF YOU DONT THINK THE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM ISNT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY RIGHT NOW, THEN WHY DONT YOU JUST DONATE AN EXTRA $25 PER LITTER AND PER PUP TO THE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM AND LEAVE THE REST OF US TO PAY WHAT WE PAY NOW.

hold on now !! dont loose your minds. i just ask a question.
122.66 X 2 aint $300. & as far as me donating $25. you can do better than that to voice your opinion !!

my question is how far do the points have to drop before its time to make a change ? i would like to see the points stay around $200. i think the performace program is the best there is for our sport. i also think UKC has the other registerys against the ropes & if they let the preasure off they will come back !!
tell me why $25. is to much of an increase to keep the point value higher ?
the higher the point value, the more dogs will be entered. i thought our goal is to get attendence as high as possible !!
to me a poor guy $50. is a drop in the bucket for a one time fee for the life of a dog & the price of a dog.

Why not raise the performance sire cost ? It is a shame this SPORT is all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and the crooks . Honesty
is far and few between. Jim in no way I am aiming at you but I think it needs to be cleaned up. I think a dog should have to pass
the htx before entering any hunts

Its not all about the money but my three checks have been $4 hundred something and my second check was $3 hundred something and my recent check was $170 or so. Once you get used to something its hard to settle for less. At this rate its only gonna be worth about $70 a point next year.

Because many people with little or no chance to win are paying in because it is so cheap. If you raise the fee you are going to lose those people that are basically donating money. I don't know where that breaking point is and I'd prefer to leave it alone than try and find out.

Help me out. If more people are putting into the funds then in the past why aren't the payouts going up?

THE PAYOUTS ARENT GOING UP BECAUSE BASICALLY THE SAME SIRES ARE GETTING NOMINATED YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT. MAYBE JUST A FEW MORE GOING IN.

BUT WHAT IS CHANGING IS MUCH MORE PEOPLE ARE PAYING THEIR DOGS UP AND ACTUALLY HUNTING IN THE HUNTS NOW AND EARNING THOSE POINTS. WHERE AS BEFORE PEOPLE WERENT PAYING THEIR DOGS UP BEFORE THEY HUNTED.

The last time this subject came up I stated that every time I get a pup thats in the program I pay them up when they go into my name. That pup has a 99.9% chance of never seeing a competition night hunt as long as I own him but I don't keep dogs forever so I pay them up while it's cheap just in case of what mite be down the road. If the price goes up too much I'd simply quit doing that and the program would lose a little money. I'm sure I'm not the only one who fits in this category

Let me suggest something, why not leave the pup payup at $25.00 until six months, then raise it to a hundred dollars at a year of age. Why, because I think more people would pay the pup up at six months for $25.00 than pay a hundred at a year old. I can see a lot more of what a pup will be from six months to a year, but I'd more likely invest at six months for $25.00, than a year at a hundred. Tom

My sentiments exactly. You have more people paying into the program and the same amount of wins or placement at the hunts. Something stinks in Denmark.

I have no info to go on but it seems to me if more people are paying in it would mean more dogs are qualified to win points at the hunts and likely do verus maybe a dog winning that is not in the program and nobody earning points at that hunt. The more points earned overall by everyone thru out the year the more the pot would be divided up.

performance dogs

the only thing i see needs changed is the dead line on pups... if they were not paid up let them pay them up but charge them extra to do it... say at 2 yrs $500 some people would pay this true not many but if they want to why not... more money for everybody

What about a Performance fee for a female ? I know that probably ain't popular , but why does the stud have to foot nearly all the bill ?

Another thing that needs done is , using the information of performance points earned in a NEW reproducers list...I'm talking about compiling a list of pup points earned in the previous year into a detailied list of maybe the top 50 dogs in each breed.

Thats real live data that could be used and is currently going to waist....I know that UKC has a small list out now , but it could be made with many more dogs and details... That would probably be as valuable as the check itself...

Well, I guess I can help bash you too Jim, lol, just kidding.
However, I don't agree with raising both of them. I'd say if they raise anything, raise the Stud dogs fee to a minimum of $150 and increase the puppy fee to $50.

WELL, SINCE EVERYONE ELSE IS THROWING OUT IDEAS, I AM GOING TO TOO.

INSTEAD OF INCREASING OUR FEES TO PAY IN, HOW ABOUT NOT INCREASING OUR FEES, BUT LESSEN THE ADMINISTRATIVE PAYOUT TO UKC?

I MEAN THEY GOT OVER $53,000 LAST YEAR.

I UNDERSTAND RECOUPING A LITTLE FOR HANDLING FEES, BUT GEEZ. 10% OF THE TOTAL BROUGHT IN?

LONGSHOT, I LIKE THE IDEA OF A BIGGER LIST. SURE WOULD BE USEFULL TO EVERYBODY !! LISTING 5 DOGS AS IT IS STILL LEAVES OUT THE SMALLER BREEDERS & MAINLY FOCUS ON THE BIG BREEDERS.

I DONT SEE WHY A SMALL INCREASE IN FEE'S TO KEEP PAY OUT HIGHER IS SO NEGATIVE TO PEOPLE. ONE PAY OUT FROM ONE HUNT WILL MORE THAN GIVE YOUR MONEY BACK.

THE ONLY DRAW BACK I SEE WOULD BE IF SOMEONE IS BUYING & PAYING UP A BUNCH OF PUPS THAT DONT CUT THE MUSTERED FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER. I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT HIGHER PAY OUTS MEANS HIGHER PRICES FOR PUPS & HIGHER PRICES FOR DOGS FOR EVERYBODY & MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKET FOR GOING TO THE HUNTS. I'M ALL FOR MORE MONEY IN MY POCKET FOR SUCH A SMALL INVESTMENT FOR SOMETHING I'M GONA DO ANYWAY !!

I fit into this category. WHen I bought the pup, his papers and hunting him in nite hunts were not a priority. Now, 2 years later, they are and I have missed out, can't pay him in even though he is nominated, and I essentially screwed over the breeder. Was not intentional, but it happened....As much as UKC loves money, you'd think they'd let a guy pay a penalty and at least still get the dog in. Look at it like this, even If I only had to pay $300 to get him in after the 2 year deadline, UCK still makes money off me, even if I only win 2 points! They don't actually pay out anything until a third point is earned...

Anyhow...my mistake. Grrrrrr...
