pancreatitis

Has anyone ever had a dog get pancreatitis? My vet said it could be caused by high protien/fat food. I switched from Diamond Performance 30/20 to Diamond Extreme Athlete a couple months ago because i couldn't keep weight on him. That is the only change that has been made in any part of his life recently. Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks

My question is which came first..the chicken or the egg?

You switched feed because you couldn't keep weight on, which is a leading indicator of a pancreatic efficiency or problem.

My son has a GSD that he buys pancreatic enzymes for and pays about $75.00 a month to keep that silly thing alive!

OK, I bear hunt this dog and he averaged about 4 days a weeks through december and probably 3 days a week August through November. When he is not running weight wasn't an issue. I was trying to switch to a better quality food to keep him up while hunting.
