horses or mules

Horses or mules? For riding in the mountains following dogs, elk hunting, fishing, or just trail riding. which do you prefer, and more importantly why do you prefer them.

I have both

But when we go to the mountains hunting or just rididng we load the mules. They are very sure footed and wont wear down as quick as horses even under a heavy load.

Mule is my choice, for the above reasons and more. The other big one is this, a mule wont get hurt, and usually has a sound mind, you can get a horse to jump off a cliff if you try. A horse will flight when scared, genetic's, a mule will not spook, they are smarter, hearing is incredible, sure footed, on and on. To me no contest.

Mules!!!

You can't beat a mule walking on and off the trail. Sure footed, very good eye sight, hearing, cool natured, walk all day in rough country and never miss a beat. Horses will get you there and back but a mule will get you there and back in half the back ache, There backs are smooth and don't move when your on the trail. We spring gobbler hunt off them alot so that we can cover alot of ground fast and find hot gobbling birds ready to work. Best thing is they are sure footed. They'll never fall
This one of our mules Jake.

This isJasper..This man can cook it thourgh the mountains!
