Thanks Wayne

Thank you I sure would like to know more of this line of dogs both the Dalton line, and the Scout dog.......The Dalton dogs I have heard are all Kelley Bragg bred is this true, and if so from which dog/dogs did they come from ? There was a lot of those dogs ( Dalton Dogs ) nominated for the Hall of Fame this year, and I am confused how so many got nominated so quick at the same time....... Nothing negative intended about saying this, but thats a lot of hounds from the same line.

Good Morning All, ohhh I'm tired after Oaks, but the Blue's did good and we (BBOA) did very well with our membership booth and I had fun meeting and talking with many new members and old members as well.

John, I think I can help on this one just alittle. The reason you saw a few of Everetts dogs on the HOF was due to your Zone (Zone 5) submitting their names for the ballot.

Zone 1 submitted 3 dogs this year
Zone 2 submitted 1 dog
Zone 3 submitted 5 dogs
Zone 4 submitted 2 dogs
Zone 5 submitted 5 dogs
Zone 6 submitted None
Zone 7 submitted 2 dogs

Each Zone is aloowed to submitt 5 dogs each with at least 1 being of the opposite sex. Zone 5 and a majority of its members being from VA and NC have had a good number of dogs that have come from Everett so that is what was submitted by their membership.

Each Zone's membership send their individual picks to their Zone officers, they in turn compare and count the numbers to come to the most submitted and that is what comes forward to the National to go on the ballot.

Just so you know Jett II was submitted for the HOF by Zone 5, along with Smokey II, Misty, Blue Joe, and White Oak Joe. Yes, 4 of those dogs came from Everetts place, and Jett II was up in MI so it goes to show the Zone members submitt what they feel is their choice for their own Zone.

The ballots were counted and we have our 5 HOF dogs for 2003. Once I notify the owners or those who submitted the dogs for the write up and photo, I'll make a post of who they are.

As for what dogs Everetts go back to, I'll let someone closer to Everett speak on this, I know they go back to Vaughn, Kelly Bragg, with a small amount of other lines added here and there. Kelly was very wewll known in those hills of VA and so was Elbert V. so it only stands that this would be the backbone to many dogs in those WV & VA hills.

If I don't see anyone post about the bloodlines of those 2 dogs I'll do some digging and come up with it later, but right now, got to hit the road for work, yep got to work on the holiday and then catch up on kennel, yard and office work !!!!!! It don't get done by itself !!!!

Scout

Thought I had more info. but the paperwork I have shows his sire as Hall's Thunder..no idea what he was out of.. and Colwell's Lady Barber is his dam she is from Bill the Barber as I said earlier.. Maybe Mark is going to have to do some diggin for more info... My old Bluebooks are packed away I know I have more info. in them but I can't get to them easy.... Some of Kelly Bragg's dogs were slower on track than others.. They were bred away from in favor of his fast tracking Wheeler and Frederick the Grate lines... He used these lines to speed up the other blood.... His Frederick the Grate... was a decendant of Sebastians Snuffy a littermate brother to Dean's original Hammer dog... Really put speed in them... I've had dogs going back to this stuff for close to 30 years now. Very trainable some are naturally straight... Sorry I couldn't be of more help....

Hall's Thunder

Came from a guy named Newton, the dogs behind Newton's were from other no named dogs. That is all I could find. Colwell's Lady Barber's Dam was Bragg's Shawn from old Vaughn lines.. I have a 5 gen. pedigree on Barber if you want more from that side.Best digging I could do... Hope this helps.....

Well let me try this and it could get alittle long !!!!!

...............'PR' Braggs West Virginia Blue
..........'PR' Hill City Blue Bugle
...............'PR' Bragg's Blue Bell

......'PR' Kings Spot

...............'PR' Blue Jake
..........'PR' Carters Blue Nell
...............'PR' Stovers Saphire

...NT CH CH'PR' Crowders White Oak Joe

...............'PR' McGees Blue Warrior
..........'PR' Nightranger Blue Rattler
...............'PR' Allen's J.V. Blue Betty

......'PR' Norton's Blue Bell

...............'PR' Vaughns Blue King
..........'PR' Piankeshaw Rachel Sue
...............'PR' Little Judy

NT CH GR CH'PR' Dalton's Blue Ridge Joe

...............'PR' Carries Smokey R.B. Sam
..........'PR' Foley Blue Thunder
...............'PR' Cooks Blue Lou

......'PR' Blue Lightening

...............'PR' Mercer County B Cave
..........'PR' Lineberrys Lady
...............'PR' Catrons Blue

...'PR' Dalton's Blue Ridge Fly

...............McKinney's Blue Judge
..........'PR' Ozark Blue Buckaroo
...............'PR' Ozark Blue Belle

......'PR' Smiths Blue Donna

...............'PR' Blue Ben
..........'PR' Hidden Valleys Ohio Lady
...............'PR' Blue Coins Dusty Girl

Now behind these dogs you will find Vaughns Blue Bounce, Vaugns Arkansas Blue II, Vaughns Blue Fly II, Sandy Creek Warrior, Smokey River Sampson, Smokey River Blue Lou, Vaughns Blue Fly, Ellysons Blue Tige. Everett was better know for hs females, than his very few males he had.

His BluRidge Bell female went back to Bill the Barber, Vaughns Curly, Rattlere, Jitter Bug, Glu, Old Bell, Moutain Music Blue, Smokey River Blue Spot, Mississippi JV Blue Pilot. I could look up other females but like I said alittle while ago, Elbert Vaughn was the start along with others that many Bluetick folks got their start from. Hope this helped.
