Vet alternatives?

I found out today that my vet is leaving the area and i won't be getting discounts any longer, needless to say i'm only going to get rabies shots from them now.In the past i always had their shots, heartworm, flea and tick products purchased from them,i found a store nearby that sells the shots but what are some of the good ( and cheaper) alternatives for heartworm and monthly flea medication?

you can order most of the same products either online or through a catalogue. Jeffers vet supply is a good one. for some products you may need a perscription from your vet but there should be no reason they wouldnt give you one. Jeffers is also a good company to get shots from they do 2 day shipping on all vaccines.

Check on ebay. Bought some frontline plus for about half the cost at vet.

vaccines

Just a little FYI about vaccines.... all the vet schools in the country are going to booster shots every 3 years instead of yearly. You still need the puppy shots and the booster at 1 year, but every 3 years after that. Not only does that cut costs, but is actually better for the dog, as chronic problems can be caused from over vaccinating. Most vets I've come across won't offer this information, but there is alot of info on the web. Hope this helps!

I've been using Interceptor for heartworms,is there a low cost alternative that you don't need a vet prescription for?
