anybody heard of a fella named van johnson or his son kelly i think.
i came across an old video,vhs,called the houndsmen and featured this guy van johnson,not sure how old this video was and was wonder if he still hunts out west.

I don't know Van personally, but know that he is still hunting dogs. Out west here, he and his dogs have a very good reputation for catching game in all conditions.

Here's a recent post from another site:

"Van is in Florida and has a few young dogs and one finished bear dog for sale. Hes in Florida running the young dogs on hogs, and they are doing really well. He will be traveling from Florida back up through Virgina and then on to Colorado around the end of Febuary. You can call him on his cell phone at 970 560 0282. If you dont get through leave a message and phone number and he will call you back, as cell coverage is limited at his location.
Ive been down there with him and he has some really nice dogs, and they are really doing well."

Sounds like Van might be coming through your country. . .

Yes Van is still around. I hunt with him all summer on bear. Still has some of the best hounds in the country. He is truely a livng ledgend. And one of the most honest and nicest guys you will ever meet.

Some buddies and I hunted sw Colorado For lions and we camped in Dolores Canyon,Van stopped in to vist with us a few times. 1993-2001. Pat Endel

Heck Choas, I tease van every time I talk to him, he is a living legend in his own mind))). Old Jim came up with that one when he came back here to train one summer. Ernie and I still tease van about that.
