Well, we went to a hunt last night and nothing was questioned till we got back to the clubhouse. Then 1 man decided to take that to the MOH. The master of hounds decided those strike points needed to be minused, so that cost a friend of ours a win towards NITECH. He filled out a UKC formal complaint, but I told him he should call UKC also to make sure they get it. It wouldn't have been such a bad deal if it hadn't counted so much for the win.
Thanks Warrior.

I would like to know the MOH's reason.

I am by know means an expert on the rules having participated in only two nite hunts. I usually refrain from comment and just watch and learn but this one was easy, plus I have a UKC scorecard and PKC Blue Book right in front of me. I have attended and spectated at several hunts though. This question would not have even been heard by some of the MOHs I have seen. Most of them plainly state before the hunt that any question is to be brought to the attention of the judge in the woods if it is to be considered by the MOH. Of course I can not cite a rule that states that. Let me know what his reason was.

Our friend was the judge of the cast...no one questioned the circled points till they got back to the clubhouse, then the man brought it up to the MOH. I agree, it shouldn't have been an issue, but this MOH took the side of a friend instead of the one that should have won the cast. Small clubs...it sometimes happens, but this one hunt was an important one. The other cast of Reg. all had minus points, the NITECH cast all scratched out, and in our friend's cast, two were minus and him and the man that brought it up to the MOH were the only dogs in the plus...by minusing the points, the other man won the cast....I hope UKC does something about this.

Darrell

Never claimed to be an expert fairly new to this. I do have a current scorecard in front of me though. Am trying to learn these rules to heart. Will be aquiring a rule book and advisor shortly.

Warrior,

You were correct about UKC & PKC. The part where you said you could not find it, about taking it back to the MOH, look at the last sentence of Rule #11, I think that is what you were referring to.

IMO, if it was like Polly said, & wasn't questioned in the woods, at the time it happened, the MOH COULD NOT even have considered it. If a formal complaint was sent in, I think UKC should hold a hearing, & if it was like Polly said, then they should REVERSE the MOH decision, & REPRIMAND HIM.

Thanks John & Bob,
I thought it had to be questioned in the woods too and question marked before taken back to club house.
I guess we'll see what UKC does about it...
