9 mo. old B&T. what should I expect?

I have a 9 mo. old B&T pup. I just bought him last week and took him hunting last nite. First time we let out he sniffed the trail and came back to us. He did not run with my blue dog. we shot a coon out with the older blue dog that i have, but the B&T pup would not even go near the coon at first. We eventually got him interested and he started licking the coon, then biting and chewing a little. The second time we let go, the pup ran with the older dog on track, but never bawled or anything. he only ran with the other dog. It seems that this pup had his first look at a coon last nite. He is out of a good cross.

His sire is: PR Hester's Big Show Brutus. The Big Show is on the top ten list for the breed.

What should I expect out of this pup?
Any words of wisdom, thoughts, confidence would be welcomed. Thank you and have a great day!!!

Get rid of the Blue dog and he will start treeing coons consistantly.
just kidding, sounds like he improved from 1 turnout to the other by going hunting. He still young, keep him in the woods. I've seen alot of good coondogs that did'nt care much for fighting one.
Good Luck

as i recall, john wick says that he doesn't expect much of anything out of a dog until it's at least one year old. be patient.

thanks for the comments. I'm tryin to be patient. Just have high hopes for this one. One thing i'm excited about though is that everytime we got ready to move on to another spot, he would come right to me when i called.
