Silver Colored Beagles

Does any-one know of any Silver colored UKC Beagles Past or Present? I have a 3mo.old Male that is Tri-Colored but the problem is he's Silver,White and Tan and has gray eyes. He's out of 2 UKC registered Beagles,White river and Branko breeding at it's best.He has 5 World Champions in his pedigree.2 are World Show and 3 are World HBCH.I'm having trouble getting him Permanent registered because I put his true colors down on his litter application.UKC, registered his 5 other siblings with no trouble, and the last litter with this same cross. They want me to send 3 color pictures, and they will see about Single registering him.I don't know what they could Single register him as.I thought I could find other Silver beagles that were UKC registered and show that there is a precedance set and he should be registered as is.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

PS: He's absolutely beautiful.

Re: if the parents can be proven with dna

if the dam and sire is registered then the pup should be as well no matter the color.

I asked Todd Morgan one time how to
register my silver pup.

He responded tricolor.

Www.xdawgbeagles.com check out grace. You can look thru the pictures to see how she looked as a pup.

I know atleast 5 ukc silver beagles.

Can't do pictures

I have no way to post pictures.I'm having a little trouble getting the 3 pictures UKC wants.Maybe some of my hunting buddies are smarter than I am with these new fangled Cameras. If I can get a picture and some-one can post it for me it will be on here.I guarantee you that you've never seen a more beautiful pup.

4 generations behind HBCH GRCH Fire River Michael is AKC CH Touchstone's Smokey Bear. He was a very successful show dog and an excellent rabbit dog also. His owner Cathy Carling of Echo Run beagles ran him some in UBGF. He was Blue Tan and White. Looked silvery as a pup. His litter sister was also Blue Tan and White. Both finished their AKC show Championships very easily. Their sire was CH Starbuck's Hang 'Em High the top AKC Best In Show winning beagle of that era. My female AKC Ch Plain And Fancy's June Bug won Best of Opposite sex to Hang 'Em High at the AKC National Show. Both were awsome show dogs and could run a rabbit. After wining the National in Aldie, Va Dave let Prune run a rabbit on the grounds. The blue color is acceptable (any good hound color) and actually very appealing. Good luck with your pup.

You are exactly right Dan. Blue is a true hound color. Here is the one I owned HBCH White River Blue Smoke. He was registered Blue, Tan & White

If you single register him you cannot run the pup as a junior in the state race points. all juniors must be litter registered to receive state race points if this matters to you. I would insist it was litter registered if all rules were followed and others in the litter were litter registered

As you can see two of these pups are silver, and they are branko top and bottom. They are both AKC and UKC registered. They are concidered blue, tan, and white.

I love the color & think that most are gorgeous. UKC not registering them is rediculous though, it's just a color dillution not a mix bred dog. It's the same as blue/fawn dobermans or any other breed that can carry the dilluted color gene...I did hear that you can't show them because their eye color is not that of the breed standard which is a variation of brown but I'd love to buy one if anyone has any for sale.

right now our silver pups have brown eyes, and i don't know if they change as they get older. But we have a male and female right now and we can't wait to see what they look like as they get a little older.

If you ask a genetisist (person who studys genetics) they would tell you that the pup is a diluteted tri-color that there is not a true Silver or blue just a tri color where the Black has been faded out by a gene somewhere. The proof is in the eyes, Blue which is a faded gene also. By the way do not let them know your pup has blue eye as that is a disqualifing trait for the bench and registration.

Mine had blue eyes and he was 5 points away from show champion when he passed away. I haven't seen anywhere in writing that said blue eyes where a disqualifing fault.
