i have seen dogs get minus points for treeing on a tight fence that they did not know how to get to the other side.
Do most dogs jump tight fences or try to find a hole to get through?is there anything you can do to help a dog learn to fence that has never been hunted around tight fences?
WE TAUGHT SID JR HOW TO GET THROUGH FENCES 2 YEARS AGO IN PREPARATION FOR AUTUMN OAKS SINCE WE HAD HEARD STORIES ABOUT THE FENCES AROUND THERE.
NOT A GOOD IDEA. BECAUSE HE NOW STAYS CHAINED INSIDE HIS KENNEL.
HE WILL START WITH TRYING TO MAKE A HOLE WITH HIS NOSE. THEN HE WILL WOLLER HIS FACE BACK AND FORTH AND MAKE THE HOLE BIGGER. THEN HE WILL EASE A FOOT IN AND KEEP WIGGLING AND ADDING BODY PARTS TO MAKE THE HOLE BIGGER UNTIL HE CAN GET THROUGH IT. IF HE CANT GO THROUGH IT, HE WILL GO OVER IT. NO MATTER IF IT IS 5 FOOT OR 7 FOOT.
SOOOOOO. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! LOL.
