I got a question for everyone.....

I got a gyp, a lil under a year, not mentionin no bloodlines...I am thinkin bout movin her out of here, got someone interested in her....now the question I got is this....she is out of proven coondogs, and strong background......got the makins of a hound, big loud mouth, chop on tree, excellent color, smart, quick to pick up a track, I think she will make a good dog.....now, she is coonfooted, has loose feet....now her sire was that way, and its known to occur in the line fairly often......would yall hesitate to either buy or sell this female cause of this? I have never seen it hurt a dog unless u want to show them.....just want some opinions......thanx.....

I wouldn't hesitate at all. I am not into bench shows but i don't care what a dog looks like as long as he or she can tree coons and win hunts..... if you like the dog i would keep it... matt

To much is put on the feet in bench shows. If a judge knowes what they are doing its 1 point per foot.

Im not even talkin bout shows.....

Im sayin in general, if that is the only fault the dog has conformation wise, if she shows every potential, but her feet aint the greatest, woudl that stop u from buying her......

coonfooted Bluetick

If you like everything else about her & she is good looking with no disqualifying faults I'd keep her. But if you breed her, use a male with good feet from a line KNOWN for good feet who PRODUCES good feet. It costs just as much to feed a goodlooking dog as it does to feed a mediocre one. Besides, usually not every pup in a litter will go to a hunter - and if you have a good looking litter, people who hunt AND show will be more likely to buy your pups. I look for Nite CH titles in pedigrees even if I'm breeding for a "show" litter because hunting titles (I hope) indicate some brains & common sense.

I am beyond understanding....

or askin anyone to believe me, they were both false pregnancys.....*&*^*(&_&$(*#&*(^%_(#......so I am gonna take that geronimo female the next time she comes in, and lock her up with my male, and put a camera on them, lol.....I will know if they lock up or not......I am gonna take this Rattler female, probably next year and cross her on Lee Smiths Bullet II male, out of
Bullet x June......that should make a very nice cross, very concentrated Smokey River blood.....

Jim......

I will say she will, but I havent had her out but once by herself, and she ran and treed, but got a slick in a bunch of sandplum thickets.....I am gonna hammer it on her when the cool weather sets in, and no, not a single comp hunt....she is very independent, and an explosive tree dog......
