I went back on the farm to check my coon/squirrel feeder. Three of my pups followed me, about 1/4 of a mile. When I got there, they started smelling around the feeder. I saw squirrel tracks leading away from it. They followed the tracks to the treeline then down the hill to the holler. Somewhere in the holler they lost the track. Instead of coming back they continued on down the holler. From where I was I could see everything they were doing. I don't know how far they were, but I could barely see them so I know it was a good little ways. I watched them nosing around through the trees for 15 minutes and decided to call them in. I started the truck and called them. All three of them headed up the hillside. I was very happy with how they acted. They never made a bark, never treed, but they stayed gone and stayed busy. Two of these pups are treeing curs, the other one is a treeing feist. I posted the feist pup for sale a couple of weeks ago for $50.00 and changed my mind and kept him. I think I made the right choice. These pups are 4 months old. I hope they keep acting as well as they are.
