e collar

I dont think your going to hurt her hunting you dont have to burn her to the ground just set it on a low setting and let her know your not going to put up with it good luck.

get ya a long rope .Tie to collar, run it out the side vent and into the cab(sliding back glass is the berries for this).Give a good yank everytime it barks.

Thats a great idea! I've never heard of this being done but I'd bet it works in a hurry. Sounds better than my method of slamming the brakes on and punishing everybody back there lol.

That e-collat WILL NOT ruin your dog if the dog is properly conditioned.
I have noticed that most dogs don't bark in the box but those that do can be one of the toughest challenges. I think breaking a dog from box barking is harder than trash breaking and slick treeing combined.

The rope works, couple that with a "shut up" and they get the point pretty quick.

There's a knob on your dash. Turn it clockwise. The music should drown it out. Seriously, the cord works even better when you put a choke chain (NOT prong collar) on the dog during transport. Years ago I had a hound that would strike out of the box. She got wise that when she barked.....I let her out. So, she started barking all the time. We didn't have shock collars then. I ran a piece of parachute cord through the rear sliding window and through the rear vent of my dog box. (home made box...no fancy custom boxes at that time). I put a choke chain on her when I transported her and everytime she barked.....she got a short quick tug on the cord. It didn't take long. Helps even better if you have a friend with you that can give a "good tug" if they are being a little obstinant if you're driving. Make sure you remove the choke chain before hunting.

If your dog is running and treeing well I wouldn’t hesitate to use a shock collar but wouldn’t get crazy with it unless I had to. If the dog has any kind of smarts it will soon learn that barking in the box is not a good thing to do. Let em get by with it and they’ll do it all the time. I often leave one or two dogs in the truck while turning another dog loose and the ones in the truck better not so much as whine or I’ll give em something they don’t want. I can’t stand a dog barking in the box and won’t put up with it. I’ve done this for years and never seen it affect a dog’s performance in the woods. Good luck with your dog.
