In northern climates the deer yard in large herds. I have seen herds of 200-300 deer in the late winter or early spring. The funny part is I never hear about how yarding behavior adds to disease spreading.

I suspect the picture is of a cervid farm. We have many in Michigan. The deer basically are semi-tame live stock.

That picture & the other's that have been with it has been around for year's. "USTA" see thing's like that around here & especially further north but with the wolves & the DNR workin together to eliminate as many as they can it is a thing of the past I'm afraid.

has to be a deer farm

no natural deer would let two humans walk that close to them. NOTICE the two guys on top of the hill!! Plus the cameraman is probably as close... JMO

The big bucks around here spend the winter alone or occasionally a pair will team up, the average or smaller bucks form their own group. Occasionally you see 1 buck with the group of does but not often.

This picture was purported to have resulted in a snowmobile trail being closed down from too many deer on it

Looks to me like the second deer from the front is a buck that's lost his antlers. Take a good look at his face. Bucks have a different look to them. If you look closely above each eye, you can see the indentions where his antlers were.
