K-LITE G 2 LED Light

Here are a couple pictures of the new G 2 from the folks at K-LITE. I charged mine today and took it outside and shined around a little after dark. I thought there is no way it can be brighter than the K9L but,...... IT IS QUITE A BIT BRIGHTER. There is NO need to carry a spotlite with this light. You can shine the tallest trees no problem. It comes with a dimmer switch on the head to turn the power down to a very low setting for shining trees. It also has a 5 position click switch on the battery pack to adjust brightness. The head has 5 LEDS and a highly polished reflector that throws an excellent spot that is just right. Also has a walking light on bottom of battery pack.

Monetary damage to one's wallet for one of these lights? (How much?)

The Light is a K21 standard pack with the G2. That package with smart charger, belt, cap (soft or bump) G2 head and 2 pop covers sells for $425.00. 4 year waranty (2+2)
The LED package includes the LED special 21 with the same options as above for $339.00.
They also offer the 5 star 21 package (this is the budget package with no walking light and 3 year prorated waranty) for $375

The difference in the LED package is the switch is a simple on/off version on the pack with an extra click for the walking light (it has an LED walking light also). It has a 3 year prorated waranty

These packages allows you to buy as much light as you desire. First the LED package at a reasonable $339. Then $36 more allows the 5 position click switch to dim the 5100 style head if needed. Then $75 more gets them the package that has been so popular for so long except the head is updated to the G2

The G2 head has a 1 year waranty

The G2 looks good; I've been looking at LED’s for a while, this is the best one I’ve seen so far. Only thing holding me back now is I want to see the new Bright Eyes head first. I sent Bright Eyes Lights an email asking them if indeed they were working on a new LED head and when it would be out. They simply replied "Yes" and "Very soon". I thought it would have been out at the Grand American but guess not. I figure they'll release it at one of the big upcoming hunts within the next month or so at least I hope so any way getting tired of waiting. I’ll probably hold out a little bit longer to see what it is they do come out with, I’m sure it’ll be worth it. We’ll see?

Larry how does the weight to this light compare to the 5100 style head heavier, lighter about the same? I might would actually where one on the bump caps if only the dang thing weren’t so heavy, lol.

Also do all five LED's burn all the time or do certain ones work off of different settings? Thanks

I didn't have a chance to weigh just the head by itself, but just holding in my hand it feels lighter than the 5100.

All 5 leds burn at the same time, however the small knob on the back of the head will let you turn down the brightness for shining trees with a low light.
