Coughing Dog Help

I took my 5 month old walker to the vet becouse she was coughing a little. The vet said she was running a bought a degree of temp and had a sore throat. That was yesterday. Now all 3 of my hounds are coughing. He put my pup on sephlexin 500 mg.
I started all of them on it now. They get 2 a day. He said the pup had a cold. I have had dogs all my life and never had one with a cold.
What do yawl think??????????
Oh they don't act sick or even like they feel bad. Just cough every now and then. They are off there food a little but I think that is just the sore throat............

""'Kennel Cough,' now more commonly referred to as 'infectious tracheobronchitis' is a widespread disease caused by several different viruses and bacteria. It is usually a self-limiting disease and most animals do not require treatment. ""

I have never had it in my dogs but I had a friend take one of his to the vet with it a while back. He said they told him he could give his dog Robitussen DM like you get at Walmart such places for the cough. May have given him antibiotics too. I'm not sure.

This may not be the case, but it could be a problem. My buddy had two blue dogs last summer coughing a lot. He automatically assumed it was kennel cough and took them to a vet and he said it was lymes disease. I may be way off track on yours but thats what it turned out to be his. Ive never had one coughing yet so i dont know. Good luck with them and maybe ask about that.
