Marc and I lost one of our best friends Tuesday afternoon, Steve Mangold. He was riding his motorcycle, which he does year round, and an older gentleman pulled out in front of him. He was killed instantly. He left behind a wife that is four months pregnant. They have been trying for years to have a baby. She's had multiple miscarriages and failed attempts with Dr's help. Just recently they anounced to us that she was through her first trimester and that is farther than she has ever carried one before. She has no family here, she's from Florida, and all his family is in California. I spent all day with her yesterday. Her sister and grandparents got there yesterday, too. Both of her parents are gone. She is going through a very stressful time right now. So if you could please add Dawn Mangold and her baby to your prayer list. Thank you --Christie

..Mother and Child! We will pray.
I own my husbands motorcycle.... I gave it to him as a gift and he keeps it in my name for fun. Every time he rides off I think of the danger. I know he is careful but....
I am SO SORRY for this terrible loss... We will send prayers for all who lost this friend and family member. We will pray that the baby will make it and carry on for him....

Thank you guys for your prayers. I just got home a little while ago from sitting with her most of the day. Steve's brothers and parents were flying in tonight and her uncle is driving up tomorrow. So now she'll have some family with her during this difficult time. Her doctor wanted to see her today so her grandparents took her in this morning. The doctor did an ultrasound and said baby is fine, 160 bpm heart rate, which is good also.

Steve served in the army during the 1st Gulf War, so the funeral will be hard to endure. The playing of Taps always gets me.
