Turkeys have about taken over in a lot of places in ky just like some opinions on what you used to take cure of the problem if you get the turkey mites on you.

EWWWH! We have chicken mites around here...(since we have chickens) but they do NOT go on us... I know that permectrin(sp) is used to spray barns and that can be sprayed on human clothes... maybe if you spray pant legs and boots before you go out you can PREVENT them??? I HATE mites...too creepy like spiders...LOL...

I guess I wont tackle one of the Big Toms to catch it for Christmas dinner after all? Had a nice group of about five big males today! First time I've seen that crew... Hope they keep their mites! Blechhhhhhhhhh

I had those itching things twice,I went to the doctor for them.First time, I got them around where I live, second time I was at lake cumberland, lure lodge area. The doctor told me they were called red mites. I look like someone took a shot gun and shot me all over.

my uncle had them back in the summer ,he got bad sick from it was running a high fever and said he felt like he'd been hit by a truck, might have just been an allergic reaction to the meds. they gave him though.
